From kitsch to abstract, “Souvenir City” is an explorative project that focuses on embedding authenticity in commodified souvenirs through personal interaction.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR CUSTOM SOUVENIRS

Step 1

STEP 1

Experiment with different visual distortion techniques for the souvenirs collected while travelling. I primarily used scanning that stretches it across the screen.

Step 2

STEP 2

Print the patterns created using the photocopier in Step 1. This method uses an ink jet printer.

Step 3

STEP 3

Sew the printed fabric into your desired souvenir (best if it naturally has distorion elements)

Step 4

STEP 4

Print and cut the tags to distinguish your souvenirs apart!
